Elk Grove Village rose to the “Top 100” category from thousands of communities that were nominated for the honor. The recognition was earned following a review of the special qualities that make Elk Grove Village a special place to live. In addition to its hometown qualities, communities are compared against education, crime, employment, housing and other criteria.
The Elk Grove Park District maintains approximately 473 acres, including 44 parks, 19 public tennis courts and a community athletic field that includes football, soccer and baseball fields. In addition, residents and visitors have access to the Jack A. Claes Pavilion, which includes a 28-foot carousel, indoor playground, Fitness Center, banquet room, arts and crafts room, dance studio, racquetball courts, 2 gymnasiums, indoor and 2 outdoor swimming pools.
The Park District also operates the Sheila Ray Adult Center, a Preschool, Rainbow Falls Waterpark, Pirates’ Cove Children’s Theme Park, Fox Run Golf Course and Driving Range, The Elk Grove Historical Museum and the Rainbow Falls Community Center.
